“My decision to do the RYT 200 Teacher Training Course with Shama Rana was one of the best choices I’ve made for myself. I had moved to Canada in the beginning of the pandemic and was looking to use my time wisely while I was home with my 3-year-old daughter. Though I did not have a firm intention to become a Yoga teacher when I signed up for this program, Shama inspired me to break out of my shell and to potentially teach one day!

Shama, the owner and founder of Samsara – The Yoga Studio (RYS 200) and the teacher for this program, was approachable, dedicated, knowledgeable and very attentive to my needs throughout the program. She provided detailed instructions during Asana practice and instilled in me an appreciation for life. I was awed every day studying the intricacies of the human body and was drawn by her immense knowledge of the human being as a whole and the nature of the mind, Manas, Buddhi, Ahankar, chitta.

The program was very thorough and well organized. In spite of being online, it was an enjoyable interaction!
It included a great variety of topics like ‘The History and philosophy of yoga’, ‘Anatomy’, ‘The in-depth study of Asanas’ (physical poses), ‘Restorative yoga’, ‘Meditation’, ‘Pranayama’, ‘Chakras’, and much more… Although I did miss the in-studio practice and social interaction as it was for most of us during that time, the online training allowed me to be more independent and complete the course at my own pace, giving me time to Integrate Yoga into Life Beyond the Studio. Shama doesn’t believe in spoon-feeding and encourages you to be responsible for your own learning, which I respect immensely.

‘Samsara’ has a great community, and it has been wonderful to connect with the other members online.

For anyone looking to become a Yoga teacher, I highly recommend the Teacher training program at Samsara -The Yoga Studio, as this undoubtedly is one of the finest and profound training programs out there in Pune.”

“In my quest to find the best yoga class, I stumbled upon The Samsara Yoga studio and I must say it’s the best thing that has happened to me. My first interaction with Shama mam was over a zoom call and I must say I was convinced that I have found my guru for life and thats when I decided to enroll for the RYT200 course.

This is not your regular yoga syllabus, she will actually teach you to integrate your body and mind at a deeper level and help you find the true meaning of “I” or “SELF”. Topics like philosophy of Yoga, anatomy, asanas, breathwork, meditation, restorative yoga etc are all part of the syllabus. She went through most of the topics over and over again till I understood the concepts crisp and clear. 
Also the reason I call her “My Guru” is she doesn’t believe in spoon feeding and not to forget this is is the only studio that allows its trainees to take as many as classes till the time they feel confident and independent enough to run their own show.

Every word she speaks shows her dedication, passion and love towards what she does!! She has a very strong aura that can make you feel calm the moment you meet her.
I have decided to stick to her for a brief period and I have now enrolled for the medical yoga course too.

Her knowledge and expertise has no par.

“I’ve had the privilege of studying yoga under Shama Ma’am. My journey with the RYT 200 course began almost serendipitously. My now-husband had mentioned the course, and as if the universe was listening, I met a random stranger during a vacation who happened to be Shama Ma’am’s student. “In my first few classes, my understanding of Yoga, being Asana focused, changed completely. I learned asanas with proper form and alignment, cleansing techniques, Pranayam, breathing and meditation techniques. 

The best part of learning this with Shama ma’am is that there is no time limit to any of the above topics. You can come back with questions, and she is always there to answer the queries or to repeat the concepts. This course is not about theoretical teaching from a book, but from Shama ma’am’s wealth of knowledge. She makes sure you learn doing the actual practice and also refers to lot of different resources to learn.

In the studio, I could learn Asanas with props and also variation of asanas. I got good understanding of creating sequences based on anatomy, different flows covering Sukshma vyayam, pranayam and focus on asanas for different needs. The studio is well equipped to practices asanas with props , ropes and spacious to cover many students.

I also got a very good understanding of nutrition and benefits of supplements. These changes have shown improvements in my health.

This course has further helped me in looking at life from a completely different perspective. It has helped me in my work and personal life, to implement the teachings for the betterment of me and my family. The overall experience has made me understand that I am still at the start of the learning journey, but I have the required resources and guide to make progress on this journey.

“I am a professionally qualified mechanical engineer having a core technical experience of 15 years in the industry. The ongoing corona pandemic led me to leave my corporate job and search for an opportunity more commensurate with my temperament. Thus, I decided to translate my passion for yoga practice to become an instructor with an endeavour of instilling wellness into people’s lifestyles through a combination of yogic postures (asanas) and pranayam.

In my quest for a professional yoga teacher certification, I got Shama madam’s reference through my sister who is an old friend of hers. I joined the RYT 200 course with the expectation of bolstering my existing knowledge of yogasanas and their teaching methods. “I did my teacher’s training course at Samsara (a place where learning is never ending). These 4 months have been extremely fulfilling and satisfying. “Shama Rana is an excellent teacher and mentor. Her experience and knowledge in asanas, meditation practices and pranayama is inspiring.
